Marion Cotillard for Chopard

She has been the first one to wear the Green Carpet jewelry collection by Chopard, during a Festival, many years ago and, if Marion Cotillard has continued to prove, in recent years, to be the perfect spokesperson for this sustainable initiative (founded in 2013 by Caroline Scheufele and Livia Firth, artistic director of Eco-Age and founder of the Green Carpet Challenge) now it is even more, becoming the protagonist. The French actress and voice actress, Oscar winner and  Chopard Trophy winner, has designed a unique piece that will be presented by the fashion house at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival: a jewel inspired by Art Deco, consisting of a multi-turn bracelet with diamonds and opals, connected by a chain, which is also set with opals and diamonds, to a ring embellished with opal and 8.6-carat. All opals were extracted in a sustainable way in Australia. Furthermore, Caroline and Marion are already collaborating in the creation of another jewel, a necklace inspired by Art Deco. If for Marion Cotillard is an opportunity to put into practice her refined creativity in a path to achieve a sustainable luxury, The Journey to Sustainable luxury, for Chopard is an opportunity to introduce a new stone in its Green Carpet collection (only diamonds, untill now). This type of iridescent black opal comes from the Australian Outback. Aurora Gems is the person in charge to handle this mine, a family business operating since 1962 of the Hatcher family.

It is inevitably then the partnership with Chopard, first luxury watches and jewelry company to help the mining community to achieve the Fairmined certification, giving them a level of social security, with access to education and training, while protecting their natural resources and habitats. Soon on the red carpet another demonstration of how luxury, beauty and sustainability can be a common denominator.
